About Skirts:
"A couple of years ago I stumbled upon a photo taken in the 1950's of my mother and aunt on a summer's day in England. The clothes of that era for both men and women seemed to be so much more romantic and I liked the way the light played on the pleats and folds of their skirts and bodices. I had already painted two pictures in 2005 entitled 'Pink Skirt' and 'Polka Dot Skirt' so it was apparent that I had some sort of fixation about skirts - this led to a a series of paintings with the same title."
